Drum remover: take the drums out, or keep only them.
Drop a song in and it comes apart into drums, vocals, bass and everything else. Mix those back without the drums for a drumless version, or keep the drum stem and chop the break. Both directions, one tool, running on your own device.
How it works
How to remove the drums from a song
Drop the song in
Any common audio format, or a video. Up to ten minutes per song; a longer file is offered a split into parts.
Split out the drums
The four-stem model downloads once (157 MB, then cached). A four-minute song takes about three and a half minutes on a normal laptop.
Drumless, or drums only
Make the drumless mix with one click, download any stem, chop the drums, or load everything onto TAIL's pads.
What producers use it for
Two directions, both useful
Flip a loop without its drums
The classic problem with sampling a record: the groove you want has a drum part you don't. Take it out and put your own drums under the loop.
Lift a break
Keep only the drum stem and chop it into kick, snare and hats on the pads. A break from a full song, without the bass and keys bleeding into every hit.
Drumless practice tracks
Drummers: any song becomes a play-along. The drumless mix keeps the vocal, bass and harmony in time, so you play the part that's missing.
Remixes
Replace the drums of a track entirely. The other three stems stay in sync, so the new groove sits under the original arrangement.
How the drumless mix is made
Four stems, and the song minus one of them
The model splits the song into four stems: drums, vocals, bass, and other (keys, guitars, pads — everything that is not the first three). All four are full-length and in sync. The drumless mix is the three non-drum stems summed back together in your browser, so it is the song with the drums taken out, not a filtered copy of it.
Want the stems separately instead? The stem separator is the same model, framed around all four.
Drums → pads
Chop the break, or play over the loop
Press Chop the drums and the drum stem opens in the sample chopper: a marker on every hit, and each hit becomes its own pad. Or load the drumless mix and the stems onto TAIL's pads at once and build the new beat in the browser sampler.
What to expect
How clean the separation is
The model is Spleeter, Deezer's open-source separator (MIT licence), running in your browser. It is good for sampling, remixing and practice, not a studio multitrack: in dense, loud passages expect some bleed between the stems. Sparse mixes come apart more cleanly than loud, limited masters — and a chopped hit hides more than a full loop does.

Chop the drum stem into hits and play them on 16 pads.
Acapella extractor
Two stems instead of four: the vocal, and everything else.
BPM changer
Bring the drumless loop to your project's tempo without changing its pitch.
Common questions about removing drums
Drop the song on this page and press Split out the drums. When the four stems are ready, press Make the drumless mix: that is the song with vocals, bass and everything else, and no drums. Download it, or load it onto TAIL's pads.
Yes — the drum stem is one of the four results. Download it on its own, or press Chop the drums to slice it into hits in the sample chopper.
Yes. No signup, no watermark, no daily limit. It runs on your own device.
No. The separation model is downloaded to your browser once (157 MB) and cached; the song is processed locally and never leaves the tab.
About three and a half minutes for a four-minute song on a normal laptop, after the one-time model download. No GPU is needed.
Ten minutes per song, because the whole song and all four stems are held in memory while it works. A longer file is offered a split into parts under ten minutes.
